Recently my hard drive failed on me and I literately lost everything that was on there. Fortunately I had everything backed up online and Backblaze was my life saver. This awesome tool had been automatically backing up all my data over the many months I had subscribed to this service. In addition there was no need for me to press a button to say “backup now”. It just did it’s thing in the background whenever the computer was on or idle.

If you have not backed up anything online or even backed up your computer for that case, then you need to checkout Backblaze. I highly recommend it for anyone who has a computer, period!

Hi everyone, it’s Tyrone from Outsourcinglive.com and welcome to the dedicated channel where I talk about outsourcing and also show you how to build a virtual team to run your business.

Okay, in today’s video I want to show you an awesome piece of backup software that’s online, an online backup system. And the reasons why I’m sharing this with you right now is actually really funny timing because my computer, or my hard drive just failed only a week ago and it was devastating for me because unfortunately I’ve lost some data that I’ve recorded that day. It was a webinar I did with my good friend Pat, Pat Flynn. And unfortunately I hadn’t have enough time to back it up and that was – that file that we did was over like 2 or 3 gigabytes of data so there’s definitely no way enough time for us to upload it there.

But in saying that I have backed up all my data – the day before or I think three or four days I think if I remember correctly I think I did on Saturday or Sunday before this webinar and I was able to recover on that. Now what happened was my hard drive just failed. It just start making some clanking noise and it was just awful and I just sat there and went oh no. So, I was really, really stuffed in that sense but luckily for me I knew exactly what to do so I went out and replaced that new hard drive, fit it into the laptop and I got it up and running.

But the biggest problem was getting all that data back from online was – or is that usually the longest and the tedious process because yes, you’ve got it all backed up but you’ve got to get that data back onto your computer and set it all over. So it took me almost two days to be able to get all that data, restore it back on my computer and up and running again.

Finally and fortunately for me I’ve got it up and as you can see I’m still doing my recording and videos and stuff like that.

All right so you might be wondering what the heck is this backup software that I’m recommending. It’s a really, really great piece of software and you can get access to it at Outsourcinglive.com/Backblaze and this is my life savior. It’s something that doesn’t cost very much to have and it will save you a lot of hassle over the period of time. And the great thing about this service is it backs up unlimited data for you so if you’ve got gigabytes of data like I had. I had about – almost 60GB of data that I had to backup online so it does this automatically for you and it runs the backup and it synchronizes for you. And the great thing is that it’ll backup everything for either your PC or Mac.

All right now once you get here, it’s something like $3.96 per month. That’s cheap in comparison to a lot of other services that I’ve tried out and it does that automatically for you.

So if you are interested, I think if I remember it’s only like $50 for me to be able to purchase this plan for the whole year and every year I just pay $50 and it backs up everything.

Now check it out here anyway. Once you arrive at the page, you’ll see details you can read more about it. But what I want to just show you quick is inside the back. This is my Backblaze overview in the back here and it just shows you – I’ve got here we go, it can tell exactly how much data I have backed up. I’ve backed up 53 gigabytes of data with 45,991 files. That was a lot and – yeah luckily for me, I can easily restore and had all my photos, precious photos, had a lot of important information or data about my work. Everything was literally backed up here. It’s all safe and encrypted.

But what’s really cool about this is that if you go to View and Restore Files, you can actually see what files are available for restoring and if you did decide okay I’ve got files that I need to access maybe 5, 6, 10 years ago if you haven’t restored it that long then you can basically go in here and just select the files you want to be able to remember to restore which is what I did here. And simply, click the Continue to Restore button down here and what it’ll do is it’ll create what we call a data set. I’ll just go here My Restores. So if you’ve selected say 100 files from your Music folder that you want to restore, and you want it to restore right now, you click on that it’ll create a little backup storage which is here and simply just click Download and you’ll be able to download those.

So for me, it wasn’t too bad because I was able to download the important information I needed, restore it on my computer and then get it up and running again. All the rest of the stuff I’m happy to leave on there because I don’t necessarily need it but it’s just backed up anyway.

So anyway, that’s really, really powerful software. Really great and important that I recommend you have if you’ve got a virtual team who you’re managing and making sure that their datas are getting backed up, a tool that I’ve recommended in the past is TryDropbox.com which also does synchronization of your work files but if you need to backup your computer which I highly recommend you do, complete backup of it then Backblaze is the perfect choice for this.

I will recommend also giving your virtual staff to have this on their computer so it automatically backs up their stuff as well and get them to also set it up as well.

All right so hopefully you can use this software, I highly recommend it. I’ve used it, it saved me. I know that if you ever have any issues like this hard drive failures, etc then this is would be a life saver for you and it saves you hundreds and hundreds of dollars to get your hard drive fixed instead of you know, finding online.
